Drive improvement within your organization through the implementation of lean six sigma - finally explained in a simple and effective manner. Running an organization is simple. Running an organization that is effective and efficient and has little waste is another story. At the core of every organization, what defines how it operates on a day-to-day basis is its philosophy and strategy. Not to be overlooked, the theories and strategies deployed by management and reinforced by those who execute the organization´s mission ultimately define its success. Process improvement, quality control, and customer satisfaction can simultaneously be managed and improved upon with the implementation of lean six sigma. Data driven and rooted in analytics, the techniques and principles of lean six sigma have been around since the early 1920s. An integration of the lean production philosophy and process improvement techniques of six sigma, lean six sigma combines two leading initiatives in order to take an organization to the next level. Through a calculated and developed strategy, the implementation of lean six sigma allows organizations to provide goods and services that meet or exceed customer expectations, efficiently coordinating the efforts of teams to get projects done the right way. Implementing lean six sigma begins with understanding exactly all of the concepts and the philosophy. Magic for Malls make the connection between the low self-esteem experienced by many retail staff and poor level of service suffered by customers. It then lays out The Magic Programme, developed for staff at the award-winning shopping centre at Meadowhall and then shared across Europe with 30,000 retail employees, including entry level and long-term unemployed people. It allows participants to find success through failure, a process which boosts confidence, creativity and self-esteem, all of which are damaged through standardised schooling, under and over-parenting. The programme is presented as a handbook so you can use it with your staff to transform their lives by giving them the gift of great self-esteem, which sets them confidently on the road to success. Finally, theres a practical look at proven techniques to keep focus on service excellence, which led to steady and sure improvements in customer care. In a wide-ranging career, Stephen has advised leading property owners, leisure companies and retailers and has developed and run many unique restaurants. In this, his first book on the subject, he shares the insights on service excellence learned across 30 years, which will enable employers to apply the techniques which will transform their business.

Lean core idea is to maximize customer value while minimizing waste. Simply, lean means creating more value for customers with fewer resources. ´´More for less´´ Lean has a very extensive collection of tools and concepts. In this book we discussed the importance of these tools and our understanding of what they are and how they can help. This is an excellent way to get you started on your Lean Journey. We dedicated a chapter per tool; with a brief description and short explanation of how each tool can improve your business. If a tool captures your interest or resonates with you in some way; explore it further to decide if it is something to pursue now…or later. Many of these tools can be successfully used in isolation, which makes it much easier to get started. On the other hand, the benefits will compound as more tools are used, as they do support and reinforce each other. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: James Killavey. We have all seen managers with the best intentions launch new initiatives that were supposed to be the wave of the future only to see them fizzle out after a few weeks or months. Lean initiatives are no different. Many organizations have tried Lean and either abandon it completely or don´t take it very far. So what makes the difference between companies that tried Lean and those that are leading the pack? A successful launch of Lean is in some respects like getting lean with one´s weight. There are no quick fixes. There are no easy solutions and it takes work. You cannot make a New Year´s resolution to lose weight then go back to your old habits after a few weeks or months and expect to stay lean. It takes discipline over the long haul. ungekürzt. Reshoring is essentially the opposite of offshoring, it is a term used to describe the act of bringing back offshored manufacturing to a country. In the beginning of 2011, for the most part, most people thought that this was just impossible, that there would be no reshoring to the U.S. or UK, that everything was going to China, manufacturing was leaving both countries and it will never come back and I think the striking thing is how much that’s changed in the last three years. You went to China because it was just so cheap you couldn’t help it; but if you’ve got the engineers and people in the U.S. or UK, and the customer base in the U.S. or UK, you’d like to be close to the customer. It gives you a shorter supply chain. ungekürzt. Language: English. Narrator: Pete Ferrand. Audio sample: http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/025130de/bk_rhde_002536_sample.mp3. Agile and Lean Office are so deeply interwoven that if you are doing agile you are doing lean, and vice-versa. Those considering process change will likely find the description of the interrelatedness interesting and enlightening. The question should I use lean office instead of agile office is based on a false premise because office environments are complex systems. There can be thousands of integration points as information flows along a value stream. As a result it is almost impossible to understand in detail how a change to one part of a value stream will impact the rest of the system-wide value streams of the organization. The Agile and Lean Office approach uses a program of continuous performance improvement. This approach does not try to accomplish too much at once and risk complete failure, but to make an incremental change to a value stream, wait for the system to settle down, fully understand the system-wide impact of the changes, and then decide what new change to make. ungekürzt.
